Universal Studios

This past weekend my husband and I took the boys to Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure. The little one since he was too short could not ride much but still had a lot of fun at cat in the hat and he loved meeting spider man. Anthony the oldest loved spider and talked to him for about five minutes I felt horrible for everyone waiting on the line. Anthony had a lot more fun in Universal studios and so did Adrian they loved playing the Curios George area, an Barney. Anthony really enjoyed the Simpson ride and Adrian got a little certificate to come back and ride it in the express line once he is tall enough. I thought that was really cool no other ride did that for him. Overall it was a great trip and can't wait to go again they kids really had fun but next time no kids just my husband and I.

My Parents Party

On Friday 16 my parents had a big party to celebrate their fiftieth birthday and their twenty fifth wedding anniversary. It was at a banquet hall decorated in white and silver it was beautiful and you could tell they really enjoyed it. My sisters and I helped my mom with this party she really wanted to do it even though she had to change the date because initially it was supposed to be on August and was the reason my grandma was here to help her celebrate this special occasion. With my grandmothers passing she decided it would be best to do it on October since the banquet hall only let her change the date till that month. It was a very nice party my sister put together a video of all the events in their life together this past twenty five years. It was very touching to see. They danced and replaced their wedding rings which they had to pawn just a few years after they got marry to be able to support our family. My parents had a lot of that night and they deserve it they have been through a lot this past twenty five years. I could only hope that I could do the same with my husband reach twenty five and more just like they did and will.

Author Presentation

This week the author that I found interesting was Junot Diaz. What interested me the most was his past and his families past and how he uses that on his writing. He wrote about the struggles he had when he moved from Dominican Republic to New Jersey. It's very touching to see how a hispanic can over come all the obticles he had to be what he is today a novelist and professor. You only get to see the bad things on the news you rarely hear the accomplishements of people like him. He was awarded the 2008 Pulitzer Prize for Fiction for his Novel The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao".

Sick boys - 10/09

The flu sucks my sons, my husband and I were sick. I just found to be very interesting how my husband was sick and felt just as bad as me and was in bed all day. Me on the other hand still had to go about life the same. Take care of the kids and him while taking care of myself. It's incredible the strength you have as a mother to do that even when you don't feel so good yourself. I have a beautiful husband so as soon as he started to feel better he helped me a lot. This flu season has been horrible I had the kids sick for a whole month.

LIFE

This year has been really sad for me. On August my grandmother passed away and a month later my uncle passed away. This year for the first time I have lost two close family members I had never experienced a loss in my family and it is very hard. It makes you think and not take life for granted. It made me realize that I should try and spend as much time with the ones I love and show them that I care for them as much as possible. Life sometimes seems like it just can't get any worst and then it just gets worse and worse but you should always faith in god and remember that god will always be there for you.

A month had Gone by

A month of school has gone by it has gone by so fast there is so much I have to do. I should have never taken 5 courses at once. I will not do it again. I'm going crazy with all the things I have to do. Well, I don't mind I really want to finish my AA by May of next year so I will do whatever I have to do to finish by then. I'm really thankful for all the help and support I have from my family without them I would not be able to finish school.

My crazy kids

I have two small boys as you might already know. They have quite different personalities but are so similar at times. Recently my oldest started writing his name and won't stop writing. He loves to write you give him a pen and paper and he is happy. He would write or draw whatever he feels like doing and you will not hear from him in a while. My little one has noticed him writing and now wants to do the same the only difference is that he is only two and instead of writing or drawing on the paper he draws on the walls, tables, ect. and eats the crayons or pencil erasers.

SEPTEMBER 11

On September 11, 2001 I was in school at Barbara Goleman Sr. High. I was on my way to my second or third class of the day when my mother called me and said she was going to pick me up she didn't say anything else and no one was really saying much in school either. My mother then called me again and asked for me to go down to the office because it was too pack with parents trying to get children out of class. I went downstairs and saw her very worried sitting by the door so I asked her what was wrong I thought something really bad happen. She then told me what had happen in New York and we headed home. At first I didn't realize the magnitude of what had happen until I got home and turned on the TV.
